The Family Session

This sweet mom and dad were visiting DC specifically to see the Cherry blossoms and tour the surrounding monuments! Their daughter Miranda, and her spouse, live in the area so it was the perfect opportunity to visit their daughter AND see the blossoms at the same time!

I loved the color of their outfits and the blossoms surrounding them in this location near the Jefferson Memorial!

I actually grew up in Maryland as a child and teenager (father in the military) so I've definitely seen the blossoms before BUT this was my first time photographing a family around the tidal basin during peak blossom week! Let me tell you, we had to get creative to work around ALL the people there! Thank goodness they wanted an early sunrise session otherwise it would have been more packed!

Sunrise Photo Sessions

I arrived while it was still dark outside in the morning! The only people around at the time were bikers getting a workout in and other photographers! As the morning progressed it got more and more packed!

Even though I'd gotten to our session early, I was surprised to find the Jensen family were already sightseeing! They had hit the Jefferson Memorial and were on their way to another when I contacted them to meet up! Talk about go getters!

They were such a joyful family and you could clearly see they loved being around each other! Thank you for letting me capture this time as a family! I can only hope my kiddos will be just as fun when they're adults!
